GOAN is an architecture studio founded in Marbella by two architects with similar backgrounds. We have developed projects on all scales, including furniture design, house renovations and extensions, master planning, detached villas, apartment blocks, hotels, commercial buildings, and restaurants.
Gonzalo Gutierrez Araujo has worked for renowned architecture studios such as Maison Edouard François in Paris and Asif Khan in London. He graduated as an architect from the Universidad Europa de Madrid (UEM) architecture school, where he also obtained a degree in fine arts. In 2013, he opened his own studio in Marbella. His work has been published in international specialised magazines and several of his projects have won awards in important international competitions. Among them, the Solvia first prize for innovation in housing, the Europan13 first prize for the city of Ingolstadt in Germany, the special Young Architectural Work prize in Malaga and the Arkitekturo prize for the city of Marbella.
David Tuan Huynh Duc graduated as an architect from the Lambert Lombard School of Architecture (Liège, Belgium), where he specialised in formal and aesthetic research. He then completed his education with a master’s degree in landscape and public space at the University of Granada. In 2003, he moved to Marbella and started working with Melvin Villarroel’s studio. Three years later, he joined the team of Enrique Hidalgo Arquitectos, where for more than 15 years he designed large-scale projects, mainly in Morocco. In 2012, he opened his own studio. Two of his projects won first prize in the DOM3 Prize International Architecture Competition: “Community by Design”, designed with landscape architect Mathieu Lèbre in 2016, and “Terral y Virazón”, designed with Alejandro Martin in 2018. From 2017 to 2023, he also collaborated with Tobal Arquitectos on the design of high-end single-family homes.
