In a building with a reduced floor plan, an element as simple as a staircase begins to multiply its qualities.

The objective was clear, the three small flats in the building (one per floor) would have to have some audacious resource to take advantage of the few square metres of floor space if we wanted to have a space divided into a bedroom/bathroom area and a living room/kitchen area.

As mandatory elements were introduced in residential buildings, less and less usable space was left for the flats. Finally we opted to convert the staircase nucleus into this complex element capable of helping to distribute the space, illuminate it and ventilate it. The resolution of this formal, constructive and material core responds to each of the objectives set.
